Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a referral to have my hearing tested?
No. Hearing tests are completely complimentary and can be administered whenever you have a hearing-related concern or as part of your regular hearing checkup.
Q: How long do hearing aids last?
Many factors dictate the life of a hearing aid. They may last you two years or they may last you eight.
The greatest determining factor is proper care for the devices. A properly cared-for hearing aid will last you long enough until you’ll probably wish to upgrade to better technology.
Q: What if I don’t treat my hearing loss right away?
It is never too late to experience benefits of assistive hearing instruments such as hearing aids. With that said, untreated hearing loss has been linked to an increased risk for cognitive decline and decreased accommodation to the wearing and cleaning regimen. For these reasons it is ill-advised to put off untreated hearing loss.
